RSDS Appraisal Diversity is pleased to announce its participation in the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) Project REACh Financial Inclusion Summit, taking place on May 29-30, 2024, at the OCC headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Project REACh, which stands for “Roundtable for Economic Access and Change,” is an initiative launched by the OCC in 2019. The program aims to enhance financial inclusion and tackle barriers to economic access faced by underserved communities and minority-owned businesses. By bringing together leaders from financial institutions, community organizations, civil rights groups, and government agencies, Project REACh fosters collaboration to develop innovative solutions for a more inclusive financial system.
The summit will focus on four key pillars:
- Access to Credit and Capital
- Credit Deserts
- Consumer Protection
- Financial Technology Innovation
These pillars are crucial in removing systemic barriers that prevent individuals and businesses from accessing affordable financial services, credit, and capital. The summit will feature panel discussions, keynote speeches, and interactive sessions that delve into topics such as minority entrepreneurship, affordable housing, small business development, and technology-driven solutions for financial inclusion.
RSDS Appraisal Diversity’s participation underscores our dedication to these critical conversations and our commitment to fostering a more equitable and accessible financial system. Our involvement is particularly significant in light of two initiatives that Project REACh is advancing in the appraisal space:
- Increasing Diversity in the Appraisal Profession
- Updating the Reconsideration of Value Policies and Procedures
