RSDS APPRAISAL DIVERSITY SPONSORS APPRAISER DIVERSITY INITIATIVE TO RECRUIT MILITARY SERVICE MEMBERS THROUGH THE DOD SKILLBRIDGE PROGRAM

November 15, 2023

RSDS Appraisal Diversity, is proud to announce a new collaboration aimed at recruiting military service members through the Department of Defense (DoD) Skillbridge program. This initiative seeks to provide valuable career opportunities for transitioning service members while addressing the need for diversity and inclusion within the appraisal industry.

An Appraiser Diversity Initiative workshop scheduled for Dec. 2, 2023 will highlight the DoD Skillbridge program, allowing service members to gain civilian work experience during their final months of active duty. The workshop, sponsored by RSDS Appraisal Diversity, Chase Bank, and the Department of Veterans Affairs, will offer training and scholarship opportunities to military personnel interested in pursuing a career in real estate appraisal.

“We are excited to collaborate with Chase Bank, the VA, and ADI to recruit military service members through the DoD Skillbridge program,” said Randy Flowers, President of Operations at RSDS Appraisal Diversity. “This collaboration provides valuable career pathways for transitioning service members and contributes to our mission of promoting diversity and inclusion within the appraisal industry. We believe military personnel’s unique skills and experiences will greatly benefit the appraisal profession.”

The collaboration addresses the underrepresentation of military service members in the appraisal profession while leveraging their skills, discipline, and dedication. By recruiting from the military community, the workshop sponsors hope to create a more diverse and inclusive workforce that better reflects the communities they serve. A scholarship event will be hosted on December 2 (remotely), allowing participants to apply for ADI scholarships in conjunction with the SkillBridge program.

“We are proud to support this collaboration and provide opportunities for military service members through the DoD Skillbridge program,” said Kharon Brown, Vice President of Recruitment at RSDS Appraisal Diversity. “By tapping into the talent and expertise of transitioning service members, we can foster a more inclusive and equitable appraisal industry. This initiative aligns with our commitment to supporting veterans and promoting diversity in the workforce.”

This workshop is being hosted by the Appraisal Institute. Registration for the Dec. 2 event can be found on the Appraisal Institute website.
