AppraisalU offers 3-month courses designed to guide you in creating a credible appraisal report that meets USPAP standards. Completing each course counts towards the experience hours required for licensing. While it’s impossible to master the entire appraisal process in just 8 weeks, AppraisalU’s comprehensive curriculum covers the fundamentals of appraisal practice and requires participants to produce USPAP-compliant, credible, and defendable appraisal reports.
Course expectations will vary by cohort. The program will consist of in-person and virtual educational components.
Yes, you can still have a full-time job. Each course is four days per week for four hours per day. (Monday- Thursday, 8 am -12 noon)
The maximum number of students per course is 20.
Unfortunately, at this time, we cannot begin you at a higher level. With that said, you can combine previous experience hours outside the program with practicum hours for overall experience hours submission to state boards.
Subject to state-by-state regulations.
No, each course has a limited number of student spots, and acceptance is neither guaranteed nor implied. Students who finish the basic training in good standing are prepared to enroll in intermediate appraisal training.
No, the experience hours listed are the potential hours that will be available and are only achieved based on participation and the quality of work produced.
No, AppraisalU is not a State Licensing Agency and does not guarantee that a student will have enough experience hours to qualify for an appraisal license. Becoming a licensed appraiser is predicated on the State Licensing Agency approving experience hours, reviewing and approving sample appraisals for work quality, and passing the state-required exam. AppraisalU is a path to success but is no guarantee of licensure. Licensing requirements vary by state.
Under the traditional model, trainees must find a Certified Appraiser Supervisor with 3+ years experience who will train you for six months, minimum, and gain 1,0000 experience hours inspecting and providing real property appraisal experience. This is the first and most challenging requirement to accomplish.
WHY? Most Certified Appraisers work from home and do not want a stranger coming to their home daily. They have no incentive to train and often consider new trainees more competition that could take away future income. Training is very time-consuming, which reduces a supervisor’s ability to generate income. Finally, limited training tools assist the supervisor in the teaching process.
