Celebrates 75th Trainee Graduate

RSDS trainee Weylin Wheat had just completed his appraiser certification exam, and was eagerly awaiting the results.
“The lady asked if I wanted the good news or the bad news. I said, ‘I’ll take the good news.’ She said, ‘The good news is you never have to come back here!’”
Weylin says he isn’t sure what the “bad news” could have been, but he didn’t stick around long enough to ask. “I was so happy to get the paper, I just left!”
Celebrating a milestone
Weylin’s passing grade wasn’t the only good news that day. After a year and a half of intense training, his success also marked an important milestone for the 3-year-old RSDS training program. RSDS celebrates Weylin as the 75th Appraiser Trainee to graduate from the program and earn their appraisal license.
“Oh my gosh, that is shocking,” he said upon learning the news. “Only 43 percent of people pass, and it’s very nice to get that appreciation.”
But wait…there’s more!
While the RSDS team showered him with congratulations, none were more proud of Weylin Wheat than his mentor. That’s because Weylin’s mentor, Austin-based RSDS trainer Tatianna Wheat, also happens to be his mother. To make it even sweeter, Weylin happens to be Tatianna’s very first trainee graduate.
“He worked so hard, he persevered,” Tatianna said. “I’m very proud of him, and the support from the company has been amazing, so it’s been a great experience. “
And having helped RSDS reach its 75th trainee graduate?
“It speaks volumes. RSDS is an amazing company that supports their trainers and trainees, and they’re bringing up a whole new generation of appraisers. It’s amazing, and it’s necessary.”
Bringing in the next generation
