DOD SkillBridge Partnership

IN THE NEWS

RSDS Appraisal Diversity AND
Department of Defense
SkillBridge Partnership

October 30, 2023

RSDS Appraisal Diversity, a national real estate appraisal firm, is proud to announce its partnership with the Department of Defense (DoD) Skillbridge program. This strategic alliance provides unparalleled opportunities for transitioning service members, enabling them to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service.

RSDS Appraisal Diversity was created to help solve a 30+ year problem in the appraisal profession – the barrier to entry. The current system has created a labor shortage and lacks youth, diversity, inclusion, and military service members. RSDS strives to create the next generation of professional appraisers while providing high-paying careers for deserving people who may be “blocked” out of the system. With that as the vision, we set out to develop a solution to the problem in hopes of forever changing the industry and providing an exceptional client experience.

Each year, approximately 200,000 members of the U.S. Armed Forces, stationed in over 140 military installations in the U.S. and overseas, will separate from active duty.  History tells us that too many of these transitioning Service Members will struggle to find employment after leaving the Military. The DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members and Military Spouses to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships.  Military members can participate in SkillBridge during the last 180 days of service, and Spouses may take part while their partner serves on Active Duty.

“We are incredibly proud to partner with the Department of Defense SkillBridge program,” said Randy Flowers, President of Operations at RSDS Appraisal Diversity. “This collaboration strengthens our commitment to supporting our military community and empowers us to engage highly skilled, disciplined, and dedicated individuals. Together, we are creating a robust workforce ready to face the challenges of the future.”

The RSDS Appraisal Diversity DoD Skillbridge program is an opportunity for service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through on-the-job training, apprenticeships, and internships. “We are thrilled to expand our real estate valuation education program, a comprehensive initiative designed to empower aspiring appraisal professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the real estate industry, said Courtnie Cathers, Vice President of Training Development. This program underscores our commitment to fostering talent, driving innovation, and shaping the future of real estate valuation.” RSDS Appraisal Diversity is excited to be a part of this initiative, providing opportunities for service members to gain hands-on experience in the real estate valuation industry.

For more information about the partnership, please visit www.rsdsllc.com/Military or contact Kharon Brown, Vice President of Recruitment, at KharonB@rsdsllc.com.

RSDS GRADUATES 20TH APPRAISER

IN THE NEWS

RSDS Appraisal Diversity Graduates 20th Appraiser Trainee

October 17, 2022

RSDS Appraisal Diversity, a national real estate appraisal firm, has announced the graduation and state licensure of 20 new appraisers.

RSDS Appraisal Diversity was created to help solve a 30+ year problem in the appraisal profession – the barrier to entry. The current system has created a labor shortage and lacks youth, diversity, inclusion, and military service members. This has caused poor service levels, long wait times, and high fees for the homeowner and home buyers. RSDS strives to create the next generation of professional appraisers while providing high-paying careers for deserving people who may be currently “blocked” out of the system. With that as the vision, we set out to develop a solution to the problem in hopes of forever changing the industry and providing an exceptional client experience.

In the beginning, all efforts were on building a community of Certified Appraisers eager to teach while compensating them for their support. The first RSDS office opened in Overland Park, KS, in February of 2021. After several months of positive results and proof of concept, RSDS Appraisal Diversity expanded and opened a second location in Phoenix, Arizona. The Phoenix branch had very quick success, which led the company to begin receiving national recognition from the nation’s leading lenders and AMC’s. By the end of year one, RSDS had opened two more offices, San Diego, CA, and Dallas, TX. The journey for RSDS has reached several milestones, including the launching of our proprietary technology workflow optimization platform, the development of a university-style education learning management system, and expansion to a total of 13 markets (Austin, TX, Columbus, OH, Dallas-Fort Worth, TX, Denver, CO, Kansas City, KS/MO, Minneapolis, MN, Nashville, TN, New Bern, NC, Orlando, FL, Phoenix, AZ, Raleigh/Durham, NC, San Diego, CA, Tampa, FL.).

“RSDS is proud of each appraiser trainee that committed to the arduous journey required to become a professional appraiser. To graduate our first 20 appraiser trainees is a proud moment for the company, including those trainers who invested the time, taught attention to detail, and put their license on the line for this success,” said Randy Flowers, VP of Operations at RSDS Appraisal Diversity. “Collectively, we have built a system that not only develops the future generation of appraisers but allows them to continue growing through ongoing professional development and education.”

RSDS would like to thank each of our client partners for providing the appraisal order volume to make all of this possible. RSDS is committed to providing clients with exceptional service, daily communication, industry-leading turn times, and the highest-quality reports.

Congratulations to the following graduates:

Alex Dinh (Paris, France), Alexis Jones (Shelby, OH), Billy Saunders (Phoenix, AZ), Brad Steiner (Las Vegas, NV), Cory Taubin (Overland Park, KS), Derek Brinkman (Marshfield, MO), Garrett Siegman (Leawood, KS), Israel Felix Vera (Fresno, CA), James Schnorenberg (Knob Noster, MO), Jesse Lopez (Okinawa, Japan), Jessica Milliken (Covington, LA), Jordan Chapman (Houston, TX), Lexi Reznick (Scottsdale, AZ), Madison Sommers (Berthoud, CO), Mario Melendez (Greeley, CO), Nikki Taubin (Overland Park, KS), Paul Lemmon (Atlanta, TX), Tanner Hinkel (Omaha, NE), Tim Schmidt Jr. (Sacramento, CA)
